The Class 6A boys and girls water polo playoffs continue Tuesday with regional quarterfinal matches. Eight Austin area teams still alive for a shot at the state tournament on Oct. 28 at Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio. 

In the boys tournament, Westlake and Westwood will face off in a Region III quarterfinal on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at the Westlake High School Aquatic Center. The Chaparrals defeated Canyon Lake 26-7 in the area playoffs, while Westwood defeated Comal Davenport 19-5. 

In another boys Region III quarterfinal, Round Rock will take on Anderson. No schedule information was available. The Dragons defeated New Braunfels Canyon 19-8 in an area playoff, while Anderson defeated Hays 22-11. 

For the girls, Westwood and Buda Johnson meet in a Region III quarterfinal at Westlake High School on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Westwood defeated New Braunfels Canyon 18-10 in the area round, while Johnson defeated Midway 14-7. 

Round Rock and Anderson will meet in another girls Region III quarterfinal. No schedule information was available. The Dragons defeated Davenport 17-13 while Anderson defeated Pieper 16-12. 

The winners of the regional quarterfinal matches will advance to the Regional tournament this weekend at the Cypress Fairbanks ISD Natatorium in Cypress.
